  • Spit And Polish feedback

For those of you who have used Spit And Polish before, can you comment on quality of finish.

I have never used them for the Escort before but thinking of having the Exactons (see file attached) done for the G15 which need a diamond cut finish to the spokes and rim.

Any thoughts, opinions, hints, tips, criticisms to feedback much appreciated!

I’ve used Spit and Polish a few times. They’ve done a good job. They did my 6.5x13 Ronal alloys about 15 years ago, and various other wheels since.
However, I’ve just had a set of 6x13 RS alloys done by Lepsons, and I think they are better. One of the alloys needed a small face weld, but they didn’t charge me any extra for it. Overall finish was a bit better, but they are a little more expensive. I don’t think you will go wrong with either company.

      I agree with the beeRS
I priced up S&P and Lepsons and Lepsons wanted about double the money, as all the little extras that add up.

By the way, S&P don't actually charge you for the diamond cutting, they charge for chemical cleaning and powder coating.
To be honest, unless the wheels are going on a show car I doubt if you would see an appreciable difference.

My RS alloys had been neglected and even after the diamond cutting you could see some very faint corrosion in the alloy that can't be polished out (wasn't visible beforehand/i.e. no surface flaking), so you might be worrying about getting a finish that cannot be achieved anyway.

As said, the alloy is (compared to modern alloy wheel material) poor and aged, still it's your money
