Cheers Mike, it will be slow as i have other stuff to get done before i can give it some proper attention.

Little update on the door, still have the last bit of the lip to sort out, but cut more of the old skin off to where the new one will be going

Trial fit of the new skin to see where it all meets up

Rear view showing how the corner will look

Thank you. I will get some sorted and put up mate, Strut tops have previously been done, but I will be taking them off to see what crap is under them, the innerwings look surprisingly good but there is some rot at the bottom of the heater bubble.

Thanks Aaron, I was lucky to get it to be honest, the owners have had people knocking on their door year in year out wanting to buy it, but this year they decided to sell and lucky for me no one went knocking on their door, so it ended up for sale on a local motor forum, thats where I 1st saw it and the rest is history.
Believe it or not, it has been stood outside next to the front window with a tarp over it for 19 years,
Here are some underbonnet pics for you Mr 13Sport lol, and more O/S door updates.

This is how I last left the front bottom edge of the door

I had to cut out some more crap to find something better to weld too

This is how it looks now with some paint on it

                  The rear bottom corner

and with the new plate being put on

and after a bit of a clean up and some paint, which means at last that it is almost ready for the new skin to go on

Thanks Guys, Im getting there with it slowly lol. I trial fitted the door skin and it looks good, and that is the next job to get it welded on, treated and some paint on it to preserve it until its ready to paint with everything else

Looks ok under there mate, bit to sort out on that heater bowl area but other than that doesnt look that bad, i find it interesting to see the condition off other peoples projects because I thought mine was real bad but the more I look at resto threads it seems 90% of them all need the same areas treating. Keep up the good work

Another update on the door guys, the welding part is almost done, but im not going to lie to anyone, I did it one bit at a time like spot welding it, and moving along and coming back etc, but it started to warp a little, so it will need a skim of filler around the centre area where it has sunk between 2 and 3mm. You might just be able to see the gap between the skin and the spirit level. Most of the marks you see are from my grubby fingers. Other than that its come out really well, what do you think ? Thank you for your comments thus far, keep them coming.
