  • Old pound coins

    Hello,
have some old one-pound-coins (from before 2006), can I pay with these in the UK or are only the new (12-sided ?) coins valid?
And are there banknotes that became obsolete lately?
    Thnx, Leon.

Notes are always OK to exchange at a bank, some only allow it if you have an account with them.

Not sure what happens if you are not in the UK

I think they can only now be paid into a uk bank account for exchange. Dont think you can just take to a bank any more to swap for current notes
