    I'm hoping to tax mine on the first of march after 3 years off the road

      Paying monthly now, didn't want to wait until April & pay for 6 months.

            I didn't know it could be paid monthly on a "pay as you drive"?
            I thought the monthly was for 12 months to be spread out direct debit?
            If a month can be purchased at a time that's great!
            £480 (something like that) on 2 cars last year!
            One car done about 700 miles, the other 300!

              It is 12 months on Direct Debit but can be cancelled anytime so in effect it becomes pay as you drive

                How much is DD a month then Dave? Sounds better option for keeping car taxed or not as req.

                  My wife's road tax was up on 31st Dec so I setup a direct debit on 2nd Jan....traded her car in at end of January and cancelled direct debit straight away. I intend doing my classics this way so it really is pay as you drive especially as none of us do mega miles and sometimes with poor weather they dont move at all!!

                    Mine runs out on 28th Feb just renewed it by direct debit being a 1300 sport its £12.69 a month

                          May just tax it for the whole year as the expense means nothing to me.
