Paul, it's £65, less if you pay by DD

Mine expires in a week, won't be renewing, big glossy mag every month with very little content, lots of people in dinner jackets spending the club subs at gala dinners, my insurance valuation took four months to arrive and took phone calls and email prompts.

Yes there's coffee and biscuits at the NEC and a big display etc but I think it's a very 'cold' and elitist club at national level, local lads are spot on, down to earth lads.

Tbh I think all paying clubs are struggling with the advent of web and forum based enthusiast groups, no need for membership fee's etc.

I think a lot of lads just sort out their own stuff now, go to the shows they want which are usually general classic car shows or road trips/tours, one club regional days have died away, loved it when there was an RSOC show every weekend throughout the summer but that was 20 years ago before H&S and compen claims killed everything off.

Last year I stated I would rejoin the RSOC if I could have my old number back FOC , 8688, I got an email saying to watch this space, still watching, too late now though ...

      Cheers Paul

so the free coffee and biscuits is actually £30 then

Love the way people slag the club of for such little things when actually the RSOC is probs the best value when you work out the membership fees

Maybee the RSOC should charge £65 and give members a coffee and biscuit

If it was run for the benefit of all members then I would gladly pay £65 and no need for coffee or biscuits

Sorry but at the moment I feel it is the Paul and Duncan Club

Just my own personal thoughts and the current committee will in a year or two or even three be no more and maybe the club will get back to its core values

Run by the members for the members !

But of course I can (and often will) be proven wrong

Thats your opinion as you only listern to one side of the story Dave

the club has been slowly run down and down over the last 5 years and its in need of a massive change , and to change means those running the club need to change

if the club was going down hill and it was , then isnt it only fair to give the new committee a chance

And as for the comment , Paul and duncan club , well that just shows how very little you realy know about the new committee

The "NEW" committee has been "in power" for almost 50% of its current tenure and I personally have seen nothing for the Old Skool members to benefit from (so same old same there)

My reasons for stating the Paul and Duncan Club is that any decisions "appear" to be instigated by either yourself or Duncan and nobody else on the committee has a say publicly as if they disagree with your dictates then they are not heard.

As I have stated PLEASE prove me wrong !

Just because we are the ones who are willing to stand up and be counted Dave doesnt mean its all our desissions ,

I love the way people say they have seen nothing from the new committee Wasnt National day a massive success ??

There are massive changes being made in the background regards the way the finances are done , and finaly the members will be presented with " real " figures , not made up crap like the last 5 years

Regalia is in the middle of massive change ,

It all takes time Dave to do it correct , and remeber the committee has to update every part of this club as nothing has been imporved or updated for many years

The members will see massive changes over the next 2 years , but remember it will take time to do it right

And dont shoot the new committee for the lack of efforts from the last one

Am certainly not shooting the current committee as no doubt some have put themselves forward with all the right intentions thinking they can "make a difference" but sadly they "appear" to be mere puppets who either have to do it the Paul and Duncan way or no way at all and then they leave !

Why are so many committee members from the last AGM in 2014 either leaving/left/removed or do not appear to have any say in the running of the club ?

You seem to be mixed up with regards exactly how the old committee worked Dave

there was 2 people who made every desission ,

I can assure you that it simply isnt the case anymore and a vote is taken on every issue raised and all opinions are heard and a vote is taken , and unlike the old committee , once a vote has been done it stands , not like years gone by when all desissions made are changed to suit one or two

I know some dont like change but somtimes its the only way forward , and this club needed to move forward as it was simply going backwards

As i said earlier , National day had nothing but posotive feedback , this is a first in at least 5 years

Dont be scared of change Dave , give it chance and it may just be a good thing

Well "the old" committee released no meeting minutes and guess what the "new" committee will release no minutes (no minutes on RSOC website since 2011) so how do we the members know a vote has even taken place ?

National Day was an excellent result achieved by Dave Easton in such a short time, lets see how 2015 progresses with ample planning time before the next event.

I can embrace change but I will not accept any change that is not a benefit to all - the RSOC has many facets and the models within its range are varied from 1960's Escorts upto modern day Focus's and the committee needs to remember this fact.

There was nothing wrong with the "Old Committee" Everyone was passionate about the club & only wanted for it to succeed & grow. I hate all this crap about how "Bad" the "Old Committee" were as it is unfounded as you weren't there!!!
Nowadays, the "New" committee seem to be able to do as they like with very little input into their actual roles.

Duncan - What has he done????????
Clayton - What has he done????????
You - What have you done???????
                          Jerry - Oh dear!!!!!!!

Committee meetings now are over a weekend instead of a single day which is costing members more of "Their" membership fees in Hotel bills, food etc.

I can honestly say that I am not happy at what I see going on now

what did the old committee do Kev ????????

we have only 3 committee meetings per year , less than ever before Kev

We " the new committee " have done a lot to repair the damage done by the old committee who basicly have done nothing for years

                            Time will tell Kev

Ps, I was there for a short while with the old committee and left as it was nothing more than a joke , nothing got sorted regards any issues , you all just sat there talking about the same issues every meeting , then when anything was decicded it was changed 24 hours later by the same 2 who decided everything , lol

You say everything said regards the old committee is unfounded as we wernt there , so that must be exaclty the same for what you say now , as you arnt there

I have seen the efforts of both kev , and seen more progress since the new committee joined than in the last 5 years

The old committee were of the frame of mind " its been like it for years " so whay change , but things always need to change to stay with the times
