There is Malcolm wilsons, a guy in Yorkshire I think has one, mike ***** has a shell and is building one up.

There is the one in doing, the ex simon nutter car.
Also I believe there is one White one in America, and possibly a black one that used to belong to Brian bell somewhere.

        Hope this helps

Nice pics Paul, there is one there of brians looking bit sorry for it's self!
I'm not far away at all with brians, it's the little bits that take the time.

Please don't expect a concourse car, this was a clean and tidy build as near to original as poss, including the original shell and putting things together how it was done originally, a bit rough and ready!
Too neat too tidy was not how they were built!

If they wanted something to fit, out came the hammer! And the bird sh!t welder.

            No two cars the same!

Nice pics though Paul! Any of Brian bells black one?

I'm sure the blue one that sold recently is the one mike ***** has?
Basically a shell and log book I think, and mikes building the car up.

I'm pretty sure there were pics on here of it on a trailer with mk2's

i have photographs here of 8 different cars, as Wayne said, no two cars were the same (some were 4WD, others RWD, some turbo, some N/A etc)

i will also ask John Wheeler if he can confirm the exact amount built

i cant remember exactly but i think it was 1981 when the picture was taken at Dunton SVE, i have some others here, and in better quality and will try to find them.(they are somewhere in my archives)

there are Four RS1700Ts here, each very very different to the other (4WD, RWD, Turbo, NA, etc etc )

                      Sa cars

Evening all, looking forward to seeing it finished wayne, pleased its nearly finished, the last image you sent was of it in its base white, you were telling me about the livery when you started with your back again,
ref the black car ,i don't have pictures of it in black, but the car is wvw100w it came back from sa painted black,it was circuit tested but wasn't competitive enough,so it was sent to gordon spooner engineering to be turned back into an rs1700t with the short wheel base fibre glass body kit from fibre sports, thats why its front wheels look odd in the arches,it originally had the sa spec glazing fitted but the american owner has now changed out the front door sliders and wheels are now minilite style.
Wot i have been told was three full cars went out to sa p15 malcoms blue road car,p18 wayne/brians car and p10 wvw100w the american car and two shells p12 was a lhd shell that became the rhd car that was on all the forums and poss p14 i carnt find the exact p designate sorry, is mikes blue car, all shells are long wheel base spec but waynes and malcoms car have differnt front strut towers.one thing that does puzzle me if any body can help me with is why waynes/brians car seems to be the evolution spec and the american car is clubman spec with no rear fire wall no extended rear turrets and missing the front inner wing mods,if they were sister cars

                        Blue sa car pics

As far as i know the engine is a ford probe mazda zetec, turbo charged to 400bhp.but i think the engine stayed in sa. All the suspension is believed to be genuine rs1700t,but the floor pan was butcherd to fit conventional running gear some ref to bmw parts, would be nice to see some pictures of how it is coming on. In one of the mags recently there was a ref to two rs1700t being acid dipped suspect one was yours wayne and mikes blue shell with id.
wayne did you see the pictures of yours/brians car when it was in germany

Yep, can you believe it I took it to be acid dipped, and bloke said there's another 17t here too! I thought he meant a xr3 or something but no, it was the blue one in the pictures.

As far as I know brians car was the most used and was the last evolution of the car, there's lots of weird things in the car, including a power dial?
                          Got to try that out!

The engine had been well used and was completely worn out.

Gearbox was in a state but all sorted!

Shell was badly twisted after the BIG jump, I'm sure you have pic of that Paul.

It's taken longer than expected but I'm almost there.
Thank god, ( I can have my life back )

One thing that was interesting was that this car has an aluminium cage!
Don't know if the others were?

Also this car had external rads for engine oil and gearbox mounted on boot.

What happened to WVW 101W after it was crashed?
                            Was it re-shelled?

                              Ref wvw101w

I HAVE HAD A QUICK LOOK THROUGH SOME OF MY OLD BOOKS, BUT CARNT FIND WOT I WAS LOOKING FOR.I REMEMBER READING SOME WERE THAT ON A TRIP TO SEE THE RS200 AT BOREHAM , UNDER A COVER IN A CORNER OF THE WORKSHOP WAS AN RS1700T,SO THAT WOULD MEAN AFTER THE RS1700T WAS SHIPPED OVER TO SA.THIS COULD HAVE BEEN WVW101W RE-SHELLED OR POSSIBLY ANOTHER RS1700T THAT STILL EXISTS,KEEP EXPECTING IT TO TURN UP AT FORDS HERITAGE MUSEUM.HERE IS A LIST OF THE P DESIGNATES, IT ALSO SHOWS HOW FORD REINCARNATED A DEAD ROAD CAR THAT WAS WRITTEN OFF IN STAFF HANDS,SEEM TO REMEMBER IT WAS JOHN WHEELER.
I HAVE SPOKEN TO WAYNE ABOUT HOW IN SA THE SAME REGISTRATION WAS USED ON BOTH LHD AND RHD RALLY CARS,WAYNES/BRIANS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN LHD.SO FORD HAD NO PROBLEM SWAPPING THE FEW IDENTITY'S IT HAD ONTO THE NEWER LWB SHELLS

REF ALLOY ROLL CAGES,YES RS1700TS ALL HAD ALLOY CAGES FOR WEIGHT SAVING ,BUT AGAIN LOOKED FOR IT AND COULDNT FIND IT,WAS I THINK ONE OF THE REASONS SIMON NUTTER SOLD THE 17T FOR,AS IT WAS NOT HOMOLOGATED AND THE REGS HAD CHANGED FROM ALLOY TO STEEL ON ROLL CAGES MADE IT DIFFICULT TO FIND RALLYS ENTER ,WILL HAVE AN OTHER LOOK IN MY LOFT LATER
REF POWER DIAL WAYNE DO I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU MEAN A BAKERLITE BOOST CONTROLLER PRE DATING THE JAP STUFF LOL SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF FUN .IS THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT BOSCH ON BRIANS CAR LIKE ON THE RS200
