Sebring red Mk1 RS2000 TWC7N, Bolton area 08/10/13


Sebring red Mk1 Escort RS2000 registration number TWC7N was stolen from a secure lock up garage in the Westhoughton/Bolton area during the early hours of Tuesday 8th October 2013.
The car has no stripes fitted & is fitted with a black vinyl roof. It is running 13" deep dish Mexico steels & round door mirrors.
Chassis number is BFATPP00254 & the engine number is TP03828

Since the start of the year there have been 23 Classic Fords nicked, only 5 have been recovered, one of which was burnt out!

23 that's a large amount, some of those must be being taken by the same gang. I think it may be 24 now as apparently a Cortina 2000E was stolen last night from the Colchester area, a blue one, reg no. HTW 400N.

I'm very sorry to hear about another RS gone missing. I've been through all this myself and although there are more important things in life, it's still a hell of a shock when some low life comes along and takes your car from right under your nose, especially when you have put so much work, money and time into doing up the thing to just how you want it!

I remember when I was a member of the RS Owners Club in the 90's, they used to have a stolen section in the back of their magazine and probably they still do. It was depressing then to see how many RS's had going missing in nearly every issue......things don't change do they! So I wonder how many have been stolen over the years then, must be a hell of a lot, and where are they now? If we got to know the truth then I'm sure there would be many shocks and surprises!!!!!!

It appears that most of them don't get recovered, I certainly hope this is not the case for this owner!

I have no problem adding a "Stolen Vehicle" section but before any new post goes live it will have to include the date and location of the loss, relevant pictures, the police station dealing with the crime, a crime reference number to allow the reporting of any relevant information and the most important tool for reporting a loss is the contact details ie, name and telephone number of the owner.

Without any of the above how can anyone expect to see their vehicle again ?

The way I do it is post any details that I know or have been given, registration number, location of theft, pictures if available, details of mods etc if included or things that I can see in the pictures plus the chassis number/engine number in case it is sold on with different plates.
The police station will be the one closest to where it was stolen however the crime reference number isn't always available & neither are the owners details

What I meant was (Wasn't very clear), info such as the crime reference number isn't in the public domain unless the owner of the car releases such info.

The owner of this RS2000 is on Facebook, the owner of the RS1800 doesn't go online that often so the ref number could possibly be sourced for the 2000 but not the 1800 unless anyone on here knows him personally to get it from him.
