You only have to look at MK1 Stu's 1300 Sport to see what goes into these cars today. Also there is a lad on OSF who has restored a 1300e absolutely stunning and attention to detail second to none.

It's cars (and their owners) like these that deserve credit and are worthy of high values.

      Long live the MK1.

All the above coments are valid (except for the Hammerite dig )

But how many cars that are well known have we seen sold for a price worthy of the individual car and re appear a few weeks later with a 10k mark up

As said some are just to greedy

I remember being 14 and always wanting an rs escort but as ive got older (now 22) the cars and price have rocketed into the unaffordable for a young lad like me

It's called profiteering, whether it's property, gold, live event tickets, buying bulk in a Black Friday sale it's all out there.

This topic can relate to all things almost all things desirable and needy!!, we all wish (almost all! as some were lucky...not through hindsight usually ) to have owned/bought cars, property etc when prices seemed reasonable (ish). I certainly feel for people trying to get on "the ladder" these days be it cars or property or whatever....And certainly never imagined at the time of purchasing my house/ or mk1 that a few years down the line the price they would attract!

Ive often said to many that it would take a silly offer for me to part with the mk1, but at some of the prices lately who knows????

sorry im talking rubbish its a keeper.... id only have to buy another ....at a silly price!!

                        Couldn't agree more.
Every other Escort for sale seems to be with car dealers.

Well yes. You can decide to get married settle down to have kids, sell the RS and it's not until later when the kids have grown up you want another. By this time the car that took you back to your youth is no longer within your grasp! I'm lucky I only left it 4 years to have my second RS in 91 after my first one was stolen from me.

I've given up the search for one. Silly money being asked for them, so I'm deciding what to have instead.
