Was a member from the early 90s to the mid 2000s but just seemed to turn into a waste of money. Became too clicky less benefits, then got banned from taking my Escort Cosworth to national day because it had been stolen and recoveredand placed on a Q plate despite the fact I could prove its original I.d.

As some of you may be aware our Chairman advised the committee prior to National Day that his intentions would be to stand down after our event back in August, to ensure we could generate as seemless a transition as possible it was decided to delay the discussion and appointment of his predisesor until we next met.

Having had two very constructive days this weekend discussing various issues of which Nicks resignation was a key discussion point the committee are pleased to announce that Paul Bury will be taking over the vacant chair with immediate effect.

Nick will be on hand to advise and will continue to support the committee where possible.

We would like to pass on our thanks to Nick for his leadership over the past 12 months during some tough times and the enthusiasim he brought to the role.

I'm sure you'll all join us in thanking Nick as well as welcoming Paul to his new position.

The committee has great confidence that Paul will lead the club in a great direction with the wealth of knowledge and skills he will bring to the roll.

It was felt that to ensure the new chair person was up to speed and able to chair our meeting in February as well as other key discussions leading into the new year that timing was crucial.

2017 we're sure will be a great year and as always we thank you the membership in advance for your continued support.*

I see the same "proof-reader" for the magazine, checked this latest communication from the RSOC committee!!!

As one of the RSOC founder members, I'm saddened to hear all the problems and issues the club is having! I just hope the new chairman can get this once great club back on its feet again.

                Lol @ Lloyd

I made that point on the board mate

Successor.... One that follows a person
Predecessor... When it's spelled properly; one who came before

I did point out that it was basic English and what was written was supposed to be a corporate statement.

Well my point lead to my post being edited and a note left on the reason for editing as "stop picking faults all the time" seriously, get a life ffs.

It's wholly embarrassing at times in all honesty.
I certainly wouldn't like to be remembered as the first chairman ever to remove somebody's life membership and banning people from the club so they can't attend an agm but hey, ho hum I guess the members are to blame...

                  Chris, very embarrassing indeed.
Do you know if there is a possibility (in the procedures) that when someone's life membership has been removed it can be given back by the committee (maybe when people have resigned from it and been replaced)?
In the real world there is such a possibility, otherwise Mandela and others would not have been released from their prison.
