btw Ford owned and converted a new RS1800 road car with forest type arches, it was a press car, its the only one i know of, the rest were done by owners or dealers for customers.
is this info in the briefcase G, as its been along time since seeing it
dont have any proof of road cars having the zakspeed box arch, never seen one to date

    Sorry, just seen this.

The Blue one was my Dads Rallye Car. It was built from a bare shell and was actually a 4 door 1.1L log booked car

Tricentrol use to sponsor him and used the car for press stuff Mon-Fri and it was Rallyed at the weekend. Some Mondays it went into the paintshop for some TLC

The cars reg was LLA775P I have loads of photos. It was sold after a roll on a stage to a Long Distance Lorry Driver, who was killed in a RTA before he ever got to use it

Went to school in it most days

I see what Robbo meant now, a touching story that

A tad on the tragic side that though about the chap getting his hands on an RS18 then copping for it .

Seriously though, I can't recall ever having seen a MkI Fiesta with quarter bumpers

I did have a set of DCNFs for the MkI, but sold them on including the proper RS airbox

Alot of people fabricate their own quarter bumpers using 2 donor bumpers, but mine are the real deal, I only know of one other set and they are in need of refurb. There probably are more of them out there obviously but I dont know where.
Alot of the series x fiesta stuff I get comes from germany, but the quarters were only avaliable in the uk, so they dont have any over there, hehe

I have a rare rs option front splitter (same as on this months CF cover car) and an even rarer Motorsport splitter (from austria ) with matching upper rear spoiler

have been considering selling alot of this stuff recently to help fund engine build for the mex, but its hard to let go of stuff you may not come across again, lol

GJ, you have so much good stuff its awesome! I still haven't found a copy of that rallye news your article was in!

No Series X RS2000's were Factory built. They were all standard cars, that were Series X'd at the dealer.

This was one of the ones my Dad did whilst at Tricentrol. Most of the cars were done by him as no one was brave enough to cut up a new car

R.A.C himself, Billy Coleman - Circuit of Ireland winner 1975
Escort RS1800 (Escort Mk II) : This is a Rally Giant because it was consistently the fastest, the most successful and the most versatile car in the second half of the 1970s. Developed from the Mk I, it was a conventional front engine/rear drive machine, which rallied with 2-litre engines of up to 270bhp. Rally successes were legendary - British (RAC), Safari, Acropolis, Finland (1000 Lakes), Sweden, Portugal, Canada - and more and more. They won 17 World Rallies between 1975 and 1981. RS1800s won the World Makes Championship in 1979, and were always close to victory, and always competitive. Escort drivers like Bjorn Waldegard (1979) and Ari Vatanen (1981) won the World Drivers' Championships. Over the years hundreds - and this is no exaggeration - of RS1800s were built for motor sport, and were the ideal car for almost any condition in the world because they were very powerful, but simple and rugged. The RS1800 was also the layout template which was copied by other manufacturers - for cars like the Talbot Sunbeam-Lotus, the Vauxhall Chevette HSR and the Nissan GTs of the late 1970s/early 1980s, which were really all Escort 'clones'. Ford claim, and they may be right, that RS1800s have won more rallies, at World, International and National level than any other car in the world.
