    Thanks for putting the link up Mark

    The pic of that chassis number is in the boot... oviously there is the usual one in the engine bay too.

    Can anyone do some sort of search through Ford databases from the chassis number ??

    Under the headlining is black as is on the chassis number (A9 I think), however there is bronze all over the car including under the front wings where you wouldn't of got unless the wings had been taken off..

    Very weird.. maybe it was orig black, and then sprayed Bronze for some sort of promotional use by someone.. maybe Zakspeed... who knows..

        Yeah, the floor I noted was also black and should be body colour.

        Post a pic of the VIN Plate. According to a brief check of my info (which I don't claim to be exhaustive), your chassis number doesn't seem to exist !!! AD would mean the car was BUILT after 1980. 6-digit number is also weird.

        I don't suppose you have any copies of the original german docs?

            it does seem odd that, the way fords did there numbers, after the D should be an E in the sequence as there seems to be too many numbers and not enough letters, the 2 definately doesnt look like a E, and as Das says its a 1980 car by the looks

                '76 = S
                '77 = T
                '78 = U
                '79 = W
                '80 = X
                '81 = B
                '82 = C

                                There was one metallic bronze Mk2 RS2000 (Automatic!) built by Ford for Henry Ford Jr to drive in the UK - but that car is known/being restored isn't it?
