thanks for all the interest everyone

Dobbo stick with it and do a few bits that worked for me

as Neil stated SLW started life as green but only stayed that hue for about a year and was reshelled into a new black Mexico RS service shell, how this was ordered I don't know as a very well known expert on these things told me SLW was the only one known hence my quote when I bought it, if that's fact I don't know as I'm fully aware there's very few "rules" when it comes to these sort of things but my service tagplate backs up the facts about my car being a factory black one

anyway as the Lakes is in a few days thankfully my trim got finished and I have just finished nailing it all back together

        retrimmed

        runners refurbed

got my 3 spoke back from Mr Spence, top job you wouldn't believe its the same wheel

this section was all cracked and split, Pauls highly recommended if you need a crack filling

painted my gloss mirrors satin black (another job I have wanted to do since day one

and last but not least SLW has never had gutter trims fitted but as it's black it didn't really stand out out so took the C pillar trims off and painted them satin and fitted east kent trim gutter trims, everyone seems to moan about these but I have fitted a few sets now and think there very good, the key is to use a hot air gun when fitting them

and that's it cars finished exactly how I want it now, bring on the Lakes, cant wait
        Cheers Glyn

You are 👍 You'll have to send a letter to DVLA though preferably from a club confirming the build date
SLW is a Nov 76 build registered Feb 77 👍
                              Cheers Glyn
