    • Usually green wire is tacho signal on aftermarket gauges. Other 3 wires will be +ve, -Ve and illumination which will require a switched live probably

      • Nice job that, just wondered why you have kept the reg box when using a alternator?

Hi, I bought the master cylinder at an autojumble, the servo I stripped down & painted, the rest I had powdercoated.

            cheers, Stu.

              Cheers,
I stripped out the innards of the regulator box & I'm using it as a junction box for the conversion over to an alternator, doing it that way saves cutting the loom about too much & also It makes it look a bit more original. Also it could be put back to aa Dynamo easily if I wanted to.

              cheers, Stu

                    Unfortunately not much
Still got a few wiring & electrical issues to sort out, also the new old stock rad I put in it is leaking but luckily I have got another to use. Front seats are still at the trimmers, once he's done those I'll be getting him to do the rears. So not done much more to it unfortunately, got a bit fed up of things not going right with it but I need to crack on with it soon though ready for the summer.

                    cheers, Stu.

                    • Hi all, A bit of an update of where I'm at with the Sport, NOS radiator in, needs to come back out as its leaking although I have a replacement..

4 branch manifold on & a standard exhaust..

Looks better with a front grille on..

front seats stripped down, frames sandblasted, etched & primed, then sprayed in 2k gloss black..

Got the seats back from the trimmers today, will post some pics of them soon.
Still got a load of wiring issues to sort out, some weird goings on, ignition light stays on with ignition off horn, oil light & dash lights not working, rev counter still needs wiring in & a few other bits to sort, not done anything with the wiring lately as got a bit fed up of it, not attempted to get the engine running yet as need to sort the problems out first, hopefully I will crack on again with it over Christmas time.

                      That's it for now,

                      cheers, Stu.

                      • I think you will find a lot of your wiring issues are down to earthing issues due to paint.
Did you wire wool. All the pins etc on the fuse box.

Keep at it mate , stunning car.

                        • Looking good stu

I've just refurbished my loom . Lots of repairs etc and also fitted an 8 way fuse box inside the car as there is bugger all protection inside ! Can't believe ford only fused the lights ! Everything on mine is fused now . As above earths are a pain but there's not that many on them !

                          • Hi all, Bit of an update, some pics of the front & rear seats back from the trimmers, also rear shelf & rear quarter trims in place..

Front seats not fixed in yet as I have some repairs to do on the rubber moulded mats to do first.

Some of the dash in place..

Finally got the wiper loom sorted out. Had a nightmare with some of the wiring, got some instructions to do a conversion from dynamo to alternator, the generator light stayed on with ignition off but went out with ignition on, after days & days checking, double checking & head scratching it was still the same. So done a few searches & found the instructions I had been following were wrong, the wires were connected wrong!!
Followed the new instructions & I now have no dash lights with ignition off & dash lights with ignition on at last! Its been doing my head in!
Rev counter also wired in but can't test until I've got the engine running.
Now the wiring headache is sorted I can crack on getting it finished, interior finished off & hopefully try & get the engine running sometime soon...

                            That's it for now,

                            cheers, Stu.

                            • Well done Stu, wiring can be a right nightmare, those seats look mint.

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.

                              • Cheers! Yes I'm really pleased with the seats. The wiring has been driving me nuts! It didn't help much following instructions I didn't realize were incorrect & I was then wondering why things wouldn't work properly! Hopefully It will all be easier from now on...

                                cheers, Stu.
