  • Stolen...where are they now?

A load of Escorts particularly RS's have been stolen over the years. During the 90's when I was a member, there used to be a section named "Stolen" in the back of the RS owners club mag, probably still going now! In every issue (which was every 2 or 3 months) there were fresh cars stolen. I would hate to try and calculate how many of these cars have been stolen over the years, must be a hell of a lot! Further disturbing is the thought of where have they all ended up??? So I wonder what percentage of stolen cars from the past exist now, in innocent hands, rebuilt, restored and being shown at the shows?

That's right Iain, and if they do decide to pinch one then they are faced with having to get the car across the big pond!

Exactly the point I'm making, just one owner here and he has had 3 cars go missing!

add your stolen car or one that you know of on here if you like and see how many we can count!

The point of a lot of posts is to emphasize that the V5 document belongs to the DVLA and not the vehical owner.
Weather the vehical is scrapped, stolen or exported the document is required to be returned to the DVLA

Unfortunatly the action is called the law and if complied with would stop the sale of documents that potentially can be used to rebrand stolen cars

Never mind the BS they help to keep old cars on the road its a meathod of selling stolen cars on to some unsuspecting buyer

I myself have had two cars stolen ,one which vanished for ever and one recovered with a set of faulse IDs
The thief made a business of stealing cars and rebranding them with another ID and consiquently spent 18 month at HMP

Its nothing new, car were stolen before Ebay and the Internet was around,
People are just more informed nowadays of what’s going on.
XR2s and XR3s were also popular for ringing as it use to be know.
