  • Track car build

Well I've had this shell a few months now and keep doing a bit so thought I'd start a thread to show some slow progress, It's going to be a long term project a couple of years at a guess but it's about my 30th mk2 so this one is going to be the most advanced one to date but still in keeping to a period works car and retaining 13inch rims even tho I fitted the 15inch tubes so I can eat my own words at a later date
My youngest lad Tom 13 has had a big input with this one and I haven't sugar coated it for him he's had 9 o'clock finishes after 3 hours sanding and on a school night and he's still fairly keen don't know where he gets it from

About a 1/4 of the panels for it and I'm not joking it's quite a solid old thing but it's seen it's fare share of welding and filler ? I won't go there !!!

Will post some more when I get a minute cheers paul

Well the mate who's building the axle for me needed the casing bracketing up and painting so he can build it.
But 1st I had to fit the link boxes to bolt it in to line up the watts kit so I made a start on them, Id also decided to use the big link bar boxes and bars after seeing the difference between the standard ones I'd used in the past.
Also the decision was made to use the quaife semi floating kit which does look a lovely bit of kit,

Well that's the link boxes and axle brackets in the position the Ford prep book says but it's a nice feeling when they bolt together for the 1st time and line up

And now that's done it's time to get back to finishing the tubs and back end off ! When I get back to it that is
