  • 1115 DI 1980 RS2000

Hello, I bought this RS2000 6 years ago. Two previous owners before me. Car was off road since may 1991. January / February of last year I stripped the car of every single component and left it till November. Since then car has been soda blasted, primered in original dove grey and resprayed to factory finish, red mist over spray, etc. I am not going to rush this finish. Progress to date. Original roof cloth refitted, all glass fitted using original rubber seals. Servo tower fitted some brake pipes fitted. Heater box, wiper motor and linkage fitted. Wiring loom refitted. Every component nuts/bolts have been re-zinced or painted satin black.
    Before floor pan was cleaned.
    Car stripped
    Floor pans
Floor pans half cleaned, Looks good thanks to a leaking engine
    soda blasting soda blasted
    Under side painted
    car painted
car back home some pieces refitted
    Engine bay
    Back axle refitted

Another photo of the floor pan after it was cleaned with Jizer.

Glad you got the thread started Paul. Looking good.
I'm always going to use the excuse that yours was a mint shell and mine a rust bucket to start with.
best of luck with the build.
