    Hi

    they are here at last

The PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 175/70 VR 13 is a great value tyre considering its quality. These tyres are even better value when purchased as sets: Set of 4 off 175/70 R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36, Set of 5 off 175/70 R 13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36. 175/70 VR 13 tyres The tyre size 175/70 VR 13 is a popular tyre for cars of the ‘70s and ‘80s. In 1968 low profile tyres became the hot technology for tyre manufacturers and as a result for car manufacturers were keen to take advantage of the extra grip that it offered. 155 R 13 was a popular tyre at the time and a 175/70 VR 13 was the low profile alternative giving a very similar overall diameter with the extra width of the 175mm instead of the 155mm. So you would find like the Triumph Dolomite Sprint, or a Golf GTi fitting a 175/70 VR 13 where the base model cars would fit a 155 R 13 tyre. 175/70 VR 13 CN36 For some time there has not been a period tyre available in the size 175/70 VR 13 at all. We are now fortuiunate in that Pirelli have stepped up to there mark and produced the famous 175/70 VR 13 CINTURATO ™ CN36 which is fabulous news for owners of Ford Escorts because this PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ CN36 tyre was original equipment on their top sports such as the RS2000 and the Mexico. 13" PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 Dimensions Tyre Size Load Index Section Width Overall Diameter Recommended Rim Width 165R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 82 = 475 kgs 170 mm / 6.9" 600 mm / 23.62" 4.0" - 5.5" 175/70 VR 13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 82 = 475 kgs 177 mm / 6.97" 576 mm / 22.68" 4.5" - 6.5" 185/70 VR 13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 86 = 530 kgs 195 mm / 7.67" 587 mm / 23.11" 5.0" - 6.5" The Overall Diameter of the 175/70 VR 13 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ is 579 mm and the width is 180 mm. Pirelli

I was sure the tread pattern on the original Pirelli Cinturato tyre was different to the one shown in picture
Is that the original tread pattern ?

                      Cheers boys.

I think it is easy to see how ace they look. But i do still think that lots of people are not so sure about the handling. And think a modern tyre is better.

My argument is that the CN36 has many of the advantages of a new tyre (quality control, modern compounds & more grip etc) but importantly has benefits of a carcass that is designed to suit a light weight rear wheel drive car, with relatively soft suspension and the sort of body roll that you don't get from a modern car with clever self leveling suspension etc.

please tell us about the handling of an Escort on a Cinturato CN36. (it sounds more convincing when it comes from someone that isn't trying to sell them
