IT WAS STW 200R WENT TO AUSTRIALIA BUT HAD ALREADY BEEN REREGISTERED IN EIRE AS SIF 200 BUT WHEN THE SAFARI CAR WAS IN THE FORD HERITAGE FORD WERE RUNNING LOW IN REGISTRATION NUMBERS IN 1978 BECAUSE BY THEN THE RS 1800 HAD GONE OUT OF PRODUCTION AND THEY COULD NOT REGISTER ANY NEW CARS THEY TOOK THE NUMBER STW 201R OFF THE SAFARI CAR AND A NEW STW 201R WAS REBORN

Well, the actual rear exhaust box used on STW201R on the 81 Manx (carried as a spare for the rest of 81 and sold to me in the Sutton/Rothmans sale) left me today and now resides with someone else not unknown on this forum.
Incidently, the last time I saw the Colin Short car (which had a variation on original Rothmans stripes, as used by Clew Hughes when he had it, before being black) it was very "tired" and unlikely, I would have thought, to have competed again without a re-shell.
