I'm sort of returning to the scene after having tried out house-building and marriage! In the 80's one of my favourite bottomless piggy banks was Withers of Winsford. Can't find any references any more to them. Did they just sort of fade away while I wasn't looking? They used to have all sorts of goodies although the prices weren't exactly give-away.
I think they went bust in the early 90's. I used to buy stuff off them as well.

i remember their prices too,if they went bust someone done ok out of it!
Yep, Cal Withers (AKA Withers of Winsford) went bump back in 1993.
All of his stock of goodies from that unit of his was bought by Jack Payne, who runs a parts business in his spare time. He still has some goodies, but stuff is fast being sold as it becomes scarcer. His prices are reasonable too.
Jack Paynes tel number is 01630 653253 - he's based in Market Drayton, Shropshire. Good luck
