How hard wil it be for me to find my ideal MKII RS2000 ?
the spec i would idealy want would be as follows
Any colour other than that terracotta colour
custom ...fishnets ,clock/glove pod, centre console etc
concours /near concours
mint interior
no sun roof
no vinyl roof
something that has been fully restored
polished alloys
am i dreaming or are there cars out there to this spec?
oh and the all importan question .....how much will one to my spec cost?
Gaz, if its anything like looking for what I want ..... years mate !!!!
suppose its the right time of year to be looking, people get itchly feet before winter and want their garages for day to day cars :)
good luck!
id prolly guestimate £4k-£7k for what you want, prices have risen this last 12 months as fast as the housing market! (prolly blame or thank classic ford for this)

I agree with Topaz. 4-7k is not unreal these days. Best thing is to be patient and have a look at a selection. The right one will come up in the end . Good luck. Kev

As long as no libelous comments are made may i suggest the following ?
If you go and look at a MKII RS for sale give a detailed report on here.
If it is good or bad then it will stop others off here wasting their time going to see it.
It may also be the thing they are looking for so it can work both ways.
If enough agree then I will set up a new section "Known MKII RS's for Sale - Reports"
Let me know !!
That is a superb idea dave
The red one i posted pics of is in cornwall about 350-400 miles away but i would make the trip to see it if i was assured it was a good one.

I would ring the seller and ask him for detailed pics of everything if he has a digi camera. If he declines then you need to know why. Could be hiding something.

good idea mate
If interested in a car you could also contact John Hughes the mk2 registrar for the RSOC with the reg no, he may have history on the car if
previously registered.
Also always check the chassis number on the documents matches that on the VIN plate on the car.
Finally if you are serious about buying get an HPI check done to confirm that it has not been written off, stolen recovered etc.
