View Full Version : JBW 108W red RS2000 resto 4th one lol

well it's that time again to do another resto :eek:. this time it's a 1980 red RS2000 custom, :D
the car is half way in the resto stage already as thats how i got the car ;)
the car was a very very nice car to begin with but needed very minor work and a new roof section as it had a glass lid in it :( and needed 4 other small bits of welding done to the car, strut tops bulk head and lower tank well, apart from that it was mint :D
the car has been taken down to bare metal inside out and under side :)
and looks the muts nuts:cool:
the wings have never been off the car and are the genuine wings fitted when new and the same for the front panel :) stamps are there aswell.
the rest of the car never had a panel up till now and thats the roof.

anyway the car will be done over the next year and ready for spring 2013 i hope. i don't need many parts for the car so will be a nice easy resto ;):D

The metal underneath looks very clean :thumbright:
That'd be Venetian Red I take it? A mate of mine had a Pop in red, it looked lovely with the Cibies on; probably the best red on a Mk II is Venetian (IMHO).

looking good paul from the same stable as mine :D i know you will make a lovely rs , whats the story with the engine didnt this car already have a tasty 200hp engine at one time :D

it sure did but rodders droped the bottom end :( i got a 2.1 with a standard head and twin 50's with it :eek::D

don't think i will be useing the 50's though ;)

rodders didn't put any antifreeze in it the co ck :o

tis a very nice car this i have seen the shell as it stands today and would say its as good as your gonna get.

shame the microwave doors gone, i used to love ripping rodders about it :D

small update!

been to see a painter for the car and his comeing over next week hope he will take it on as his just done a white mk3 capri and it was mint:cool:

been busy cleaning parts and working out what i need lol....:eek:

as soon as we start to move with the car i will put some pics up ;)
