New Engine for SJN

Blew the BDG in SJN up on the smeatharp rally,

Engine out and sold as bits

Brand new engine arriving this week :D

Some photos of engine bay as is and will update as we clean up and fit new one

That engine done over 3000 stage miles in total :eek: in the hands of Jimmy Mcrae and Alister Mcrae in the stobart escort LSV 171 and then in SJN with myself

Snapped a conrod because i missed a gear and hit about 12k revs

so yes it has been a fantastic engine but time for a new one me thinks:)

Thanks for that Darrel that is who looks after our mans engine (Mike Stivie ), also an Ex Prepfab Car the 2.3 Warrior one that was built many years ago
We are out on the Premier Rally in 2 weeks ,I guess you won't be out for a while after putting that leg out :eek:

Hello mate. Engine going on dyno thursday if everything ok then fitting back in car on monday then Pete wants it for rolling road for last set up.

Also just had the zf rebuilt and the car put on full new tarmac set up.

Next rally im doing is 12th dec the rockingham stages will you be there?

The carbs come from a Taxi and cams were from Dale Farm :eek:

Well,
at the time of the video that Mampe car had probably 26.5 bhp ...
When they visited our Classic Ford Event last October the owners said they had some issues with the engine. Turned out they had plumbed the injection (metering unit) in the wrong way ... think they have sorted it now.
