No disrespect my friend but if you are thinking of changing the look of that then you need to get yourself down to A and E and get your head checked out :-)

:sign5: :laughing3:. I agree ;)

MRM is a lovely looking car though. But why cut up another really nice car to do it?
Hey, your choice though Alan. Your car.

It's none of my business...

On the other hand, that looks like a very early (steel rear bulkhead, grey loom tape, metal heater box etc) MkII. The early ones were the most solid too and that car has probably never seen the welding torch at all (or very little).

I have to say I couldn't bring myself to "arch" an original, mint car.
The decision rests with you of course, the thing is of course if you arch it and then aren't excited by the result, then it was all a bit of a waste of time, money and effort. The car is then irreversibly modified too:confused:

Well Gents,,,Thats a mixed bag of answers with bias to leave it standard, I can see where you are all comming from but I decided to go this way as I have always wanted an arched MK2 and could never find one in my price range
Maybe need to give it more thought
Then again cold swap for a arched one

I was faced with the same decision 5 years ago, it was either chop up my RS2000 or find a "standard" car that I could transform, in the end I'm glad I didn't cut up the RS2000 as it was too good to waste and in the process I have saved a standard escort that I'm sure would now be on scrap pile if I had not bought it (and I've now got 2 escorts so I'm not complaining :)).

Leave it standard, they are pretty rare in that kind of condition, you'd be mad to butcher that one:(

trialscort
25-03-2011, 20:08
Or of course, you could spend 2 or 3 grand on it that it just doesn't need, and it won't be worth any more when you've finished.;)

LEAVE IT AS IS:)

alancdavis
25-03-2011, 20:10
way less than a grand

RatHead
25-03-2011, 20:27
chopping up a nice standard and rare car like this will lessen its value.

best to start with one not so nice that way you will add value rather than lessen it.

SHIFTY
25-03-2011, 22:07
you are some man Alan! lol

Its up to you to be fair, however that is a very nice solid rare car...I could see the point if the arches were rotten etc but its a minter!...imo I would buy something needing work to arch or buy an arched car...

Get it done, better to spend money on a nice shell, that way its safe!!!!!!!!!

Also if at some point you sell on again, cars prepped from nice shells make the best money.
