View Full Version : cossieing a mk2 ...whats involved
Been thinking of putting a cossie lump in my rs2000 , what are the major things to be done to do this and what are the major obstacles ?
How much cutting do you need to do etc etc
do you need to change all the axle ,diff, etc or can you use existing stuff?
dont want a massive power engine just standard power would do
Any links to info would be greatly appreceiated
Gaz, It should just drop in with a bit trimmed off the back of the crossmember. The main thing is the gearbox. Which one do you want to use ?
T5 will need the tunnel altering with a hammer or big tunnel.
MT75 will need the same.
Type 9 if its up to the job no mods but you will need a new small flywheel 9 bolt type as the Cossie one does not fit in the rs2000 bellhousing.
Other mods will be to fit in the intercooler and big rad.
Got my 2wd intercooler to fit behind the nosecone. Cut the front panel either side of the rad mount for the pipework to fit.

Type 9 box's are proper shite, can't take any form of torque.
English axle's don't last either.
Baby atlas with a diff to take it is 2-4k depending on spec.
T5 250-500 quid
Engine with all bits 1000-2500k
Intercooler 300
Rad 300
Crossmember - 100 doesn't need cutting thats a miff, buy the right one lol...
Basicially you need at least 5k and will cost you near 10k
