this is somthing thats been on my mind for a while and ford fair last week made me think about it more.

is there room and the want with in the ford scene for a big classic ford show, orginized by the clubs for the clubs.
there doesnt seem to be any show that all the major clubs attend togther on mass

As long as it's next to a drag strip or track etc as static car shows in fields are crap usually (unless you've never seen an Escort before) lol :D

Sorry Gaz, but nothing bores me more than a drag strip.......so they are not everyones cup of tea :p Track action is ok though :) Some shows are better than others......but in my opinion, drives / tours are best, and there are plenty of them around for those who like to drive their cars :D

Agree with sir Aled on this one.

A track for me, not a strip.
But not a huge track and somewhere that is good for spectators, like Lydden?

Look at Classicfords show its self, fewer and fewer actual classics going, and more and more Focus's etc

the trouble is when car shows become bigger and bigger the organizers tend to get greedier and greedier.they start charging more and more for admission prices and for entering your car without which there wouldn`t be a car show.

That's exactly why 4 of us got together earlier in the year to discuss organising a Classic Ford Meeting over here. After initial talks to get an indoor event started, Aad found a new venue. The owners are very enthousiastic as well of organising Classic Car Shows so we now have a GO.
As we are not a club, we were very happy that the owner agreed that we do not pay for the area, and that he can keep all monies from the gate. We just have to make sure enough people and cars come to the meeting.

Well then get your asses over here!
We have concours but gay mirrors are not allowed.
Part of the area is an airfield for ultralights and small aircraft, we can use that as part of slalom/rally course. Maybe we will do a sprint also. Going there this week again (with car) to see how much space we have/need.

I sometimes have mirrors under the shed....Does that make me gay then?? I personally don't attack people for drag racing even though I don't like it!

Curborough????

Difficult to get at the right time of year, expensive, usual available dates clash with other stuff.

Uhmmm Schiphol is about a 2 hrs drive away from Venlo.
By train I think it would be Utrecht as a first stop then the intercity to Eindhoven, then Intercity to Venlo.

http://www.ns.nl/cs/Satellite/travellers
(3 hour trip)

But Eindhoven airport is just 50 kms away, Weeze even less but it's not a motorway to Venlo.
