I received a call this morning about a gang of kids that had vandalised anold garage, and the reason for the call was this!!!!!!!!

The old guy who lives next to the garage knows about my car and gave me a call, although the car looks in a sorry state it is all there and totally correct.
It has the correct GCAT plate and all the numbers match, as you can see it also has the correct engine and ancillaries

The only problem is no one knows who owns the car, i have tried all of the houses connected to the garages but to no avail.
The only comment i got was " i think the old guy may have died and the car has sat for over 10 years"
Any thoughts?????

what a shame looks like the waters been in there for years rotton it away slowly such a shame

have you tried the police, give em the reg details and explain the situation and they may be willing to help ?

According to the DVLC site this is this car was last taxed 11/9/84.
first registered 29/6/77 and colour white with 1593cc engine so everything seems to tie in correctly. Seems the 10 years is probably nearer 20 though.
Good luck,if you get it I think you will need it.

HI MATE

Just out of interest whats the trim like,is it rolltops etc and what condition are they in.is the dash cut for pod or is it still original any pics of the inside etc

i know its a lot to answer but id love to know

The interior is about the only bit to survive, the front seats would probably clean up fairly well, the door cards are original and uncut, it has the white needle dash (showing 62000m) and the dash top ets are not cracked.
The back seat is totally ruined.
I have tried every house in the street but no one will own up to ownership so i have asked the local police, will keep you informed.

many thanks for the reply mate,i often wonder what the history is behind cars like that makes you wonder doesnt it,looks nice and original i bet its been laid up some time though,if you look close though it has a early type boot etc and a later type oval grill for a car that looks like its been laid up sometime makes you wonder,maybe its been on the road quietly up until last week and swansea are after him for his back tax dues so hes laid it up for a little resto/tlc lol lol lol/

Good to see another one uncovered. Pity about the state of it though. If you get it martin, The best of luck with what you do with it. It will be in safe hands where it should be :cheers:

Martyn,

If I were you id tow the car to a dry garage, tell the cops you are taking the car & if they come looking for it at least you have it safe & sound. you havent really committted any crime as such....its just a waste of another mexico if it stays there.....
