compulsory car insurance??

does anyone know if this is true, i was told today that the law has changed regarding vehicles off the road, apparently the vehicle has to be insured at all times, even if it's in a thousand bits (as mine is!!), i've not heard of this, i know it was spoke about in the past but wasnt aware it had gone further,

Never heard of that before.Cannot see that it is correct as DVLA do not insist on your car being taxed all the time .My son in law is in Insurance so will check for you

The way these cars are going up in value and getting rare to find, if it was me i would insure it regardless
