Lakes tour 2010
I have a few issues about the tour this year and would like to put it to you all that in am open for suggestions and comments  no wingers :)
My thoughts
The Lakes tour has grown from its humble beginning in 2006 to what only be said to be one of the highlights of the old skool Ford calendar, and gets bigger every year so this year I intend to
1 Give priority entry to people that have done all 4 Lakes tours:) I have records, and they will recive a 5 year tour award .
2 MK 2 RS 2000 year this year 100 would be fantasic :D 150 would be :eek:ing
3 An area will be set aside on Sunday for 2009/2010 Recently Restored cars fresh out of the box sort of speak, or cars new on the seen? It's possable that they may not be all fords RS's  but only pre 80s fords will be eligible to enter the tour on Saturday.
4 I would also like to set a record for the most pre 80S FORDS IN ONE PLACE could be a bit of a tall order this one but , it has to be tryed .:)
5 Better showers [ sorted, and will have to be reflected in the camping price ]
6 Lakes tour car parking on Sunday will change in 2010 :) so you will have to be up at the crack of dawn like ME  lol
If anyone would like to sponsor anything this year please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
suggestions and comments please
all good points there Father
the only thing i think could be 'improved' on are the long queues for the route packs on the saturday morning - we've been lucky over the years with weather and i guess one year the weather willwin out -
is there any way that the packs could be handed out earlier ?
i know you dont want a mass exit in the morning, but i think peeps would be sensible and not leave in large groups (that could be organised over the start ramp anyway ;))
also, it would take the pressure of you lot in the morning, so you could see a little more in the morning instead of being stuck behind a desk
i'm sure theres a few who could/would help out on the friday afternoon/evening for example
;)
ps. is dawns crack nice ? :o

It was fantastic last year
But please sorth the weather out :D
Good points made there Oggie and got to agree with Grum that it could have been a painful wait in the queue if it was lashing down. Can't wait again, leave already booked

hey how about running it in Australia?
;)
Ok I'll get my hat and coat
:withstupid:
agree with priority for peeps that have done all the tours :D also remaining places should be allocated on those that have done the tour previously before any non previous entrants. I have done 2 and would be gutted to miss out ahead of someone that has never done the tour before. I agree with grum that if a few helped out on the friday ( I would be wiling to do so ) the packs etc could be handed out so making less queues in the saturday morning. Top idea on the new restos giving a special area :D
suggestion re the pack, why not give out the rally plate stickers etc friday eve/saturday am but then hand out the route book as the car goes over the ramp

Agree with you on this Tim :)
Also get Miles to agree to taking in an Ice Cream Van and a Burger van for the Sunday to reduce the queues of people trying to get some food/drinks in the afternoon. What he will make on the fees he will charge them will more than compensate for the lost revenue he will have if he sold all the food himself.

Pretty much everything has been replaced on my car in the last 2yrs so think I might qualify!
New engine/gbox/lsd/suspension/brakes/wheels & hasn't been passed the Watford gap for 2yrs
