I read a copy of Motoring News today from June 1987, and found loads of mk2 RS`s for sale, the pick of the bunch was a Mike Youngs add (who i am sure you will of heard of). It read;
1980 rs2000, 30,600 miles only, original factory black, the interior of this car is as new, carpets always covered, never smoked in and even has that new car smell, almost new cn36`s and unused spare, rustproofed from new, completely standard, almost unrepeatable..£4895.

What a bargain if only :cheers:

Yep I've got an ex-Mike Youngs RS2. Black, pre custom, with the original bill of sale from around this time. Totally standard (apart from the Ashley exhaust i have put on - kept the original!), even got the Mike Youngs number plates on the car. Can't wait to get it back on the road. Nearly finished, just re-conditioned the starter motor and hopefully should MOT in a week or two. Will post some pick when I get round to it.

used to have a look there regular with my mate and his dad......really did used to have some cracking motors......obviously being a teenager all i could do was drawl......20 years on still drawling.
