Just fixed my renault 5 gordini turbo after 6 years and wondered if you lot think it's low enough !!!!!! I scrapped up half the grass and mud from the alley getting onto the street so i reckon it is , lol . :D

shouldn't say it on a ford forum but that's one of the nicest looking cars i've seen for a long time - those wheels in particular are lush
the stance is perfect (well, probably not perfect for actually driving anywhere but perfect visually)

Maybe for sale after Xmas . I've got a full roll cage and new seats to fit inside yet and then i'm going to drive it around for a bit i think . It was my daily transport 6 years ago and i looked like "Ali G" when going to the shops . :D
They are really rare these days as they rot worse than Escorts !!!!!! :eek: . Lucky mines got no major rot on it and just a few bubbles here and there instead of breaking in half at the "A" posts like normal (my mate Phil has 5 of them) !!!!!
It's also modified with later GT turbo pistons and liners , hybrid T3 turbo , alloy intercooler , GT turbo group "A" carb etc and makes 190ish BHP on 15 psi of boost . It only weighs 700 kilos (french biscuit tin steel etc) and goes like a rocket despite it's tiny 1.4 litre pushrod x-flow engine . :cool:
Also cheers for all the good comments about the "plastic missile" . FPMSL at the £2000 scrapage scheme dig , lol :D

Hi Andy , the Mini's got a 1300 turbo engine with enlarged 27cc chambers to lower the comp ratio , bigger valves , roller rockers , group "A" head gasket , forged Omega pistons , T3 turbo , metro turbo S.U. carb , RC40 exhaust etc etc . Makes an easy 140bhp on low boost but should be about 165bhp with an intercooler/charge cooler/water injection etc . Don't sound much power but it's bordering on the dangerous when the turbo spins up in that little car , lol !!!! :eek:

Yes they fly with an XE in them . My mate Nathan had a race XE on injection etc in a lightweight stripped out Mini and fooooook me was it dangerous :eek: . It would run 13.5secs weaving all over both lanes of the drag strip , lol .
My mini is stuck in the back garden rusting away at present . It's been their for 6 years so i shall be fixing it up and selling it soon before it disappears into the bushes forever !!!!! :(

mini`s became a fing of the past, essy`s, alfa suds n renault 5 turb`s, manta`s an cavalier sri had just sort of become popular wiv da young lads everywhere, jus that one oic took me back:eek:
Yes the R5 turbo model interest is taking off it seems . You never see any driving about these days either , i've seen more escorts . :eek:

The mini looks like a shite heap at the moment , lol . It's got green fugus growing all over it so the £2000 scrapage allowance would be ace . Mind you new cars are shite so i don't what any except the £60,000+ plus ones with £5000 cam belts !!!!! :D
Here's another pic of the Gordini Turbo . The fronts a bit high here as i'd just got it off axle stands for the 1st time in 6 years so it took a few minutes to settle down again :rolleyes: .
Going for it's MOT soon so i can't wait to see the MOT mans face when he trys to slide his ramp jack under it to check the steering , lol . He's got no fooookin hope !!!! :D

The Porsche is locked away as i don't get time to use it much :( . I prefer driving the Escort if the truth be known as it's faster and sounds better . Plus Joe public also thinks i'm a yuppie when i'm in the Porsche (but a chav in the Escort) !!!!!! :D .
Just for 4parajohn . I had a new front boot floor and petrol tank support etc welded into it last year as the whole front was falling off !!!!!! lol . Easier to restore than Escorts though as you can still buy all the bits . Is it low enough though !!!!! :D

Piece of cake to work on . No water problems as it's air cooled (so no blown head gaskets , no leaking rads , no head corrosion etc to fix) and best of all free tax + Zero depreciation (just like Escorts) :cool: . I can get it sideways in 1st gear but apart from that it's rock solid and just grips . It's got a 1980's 3.0 litre motor in it but i was thinking of swopping a big 340+bhp 3.8 litre 1990's engine into it but can't be arsed at present as i don't drive it enough :rolleyes: . I might flog it instead but will see how i feel next year as it's going up in value and only costs me £10 a week to keep it !!!!!! :D :D :D

Nice one gaz, Porker is a true beauty. Had a blast up the dual carriageway with a white one (rs) a few weeks ago and he JUST edged away from me.
Not bad for a little 1600 zetec escort...(2.0 being prepped as we speak)
