View Full Version : Single garage - is it enough room?

Hi all,
I miss my old RS's....no doubt about it, and having recently given up Motorcycle Trials I fear a return to MKII's a calling'
Question is though, how, or where do you guys work? I've got yer typical single car garage (albeit slightly longer than normal) and lok-blok driveway....and so I just wondered if it is enough room.
I helped built a Seven replica some years ago in a single garage, but a full bodyshell is another matter....and last time I worked on an RS I had a huge boat building shed to spread myself around. Hmmmmm?
Ideas?, Hints?, Tips?
Ian.
move house m8 , single garages are a waste of time, or rent somewhere, im in the same boat myself.
cheers tim.

I'm sort of Lucky I have a garage you can just get 3 cars next to each other very snuggly! if I removed all the following but I share it with patio furniture and kids bikes a dangerous combination with newly painted car LOL

It's a pain and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. But it CAN be done! My single garage is in the South of France, however, so 320 days a year I can work with it open.
For two years we had a house with a double garage but the wife whinged all the time so I couldn't get on with the resto. Now I'm divorced but have only got a single garage. That's what you call bad timing!

Looks like a 250/350 LC you've got there Lee......like the RS it's a classic 80's machine in my book.
I remember hanging around the town square early 80's and it was nothing but escorts & LC's.....

The phantom thread hijacker strikes again!
Ive done all my work in a garage that is not quite a single and not quite a double .... its a souble :geek:
I restored my 3dr (twice!) in a single garage. I hade about an inch at the rear of the car, and 6 inches at the front, and about q foot either side. Very hard work, you have to work tidy and everything Id removed from the car had to come into the house cos of the lack of space! :drunken:
