A true conundrum!

K9 should be 1979 year of manufacture in UK, Calypso Green.
according to microfiche!

Also, XSC1290A is Calypso Green 79 in the Standox Colour book!


Weren't all RS2000's manufactured in Germany?

For UK built cars, the last number of the year of manufacture was added to this field!

so it must have been a special order from the factory, or too the german factory then?

I cant remember what calypso green was on I have heard about it on sometinhg just cant place it

Calypso Green available on RS2000 and all Escort models in 1979.

Calypso Green was an Escort colour. Just not an RS2000 colour.

I must revise my statements: The colour availability I have for RS2000's is based on German colour cards or "Ford Europe" information. I don't have Ford UK colour cards, but would be happy to have some scans if anyone has the originals!

This, however, would be the first colour which has a different applicability for RS2000's between Germany and UK that I know.

22 files at 23MB each file sound OK?

I'll accept any files of coloured snatches, too. Ginger and Auburn being my favorites.

Calypso green was an available RS colour , it is listed in the colour options in the July/August 79 Ford Cars brochure that I have. I always thought it looked very similar to Signal Green .

in the late 80 s i had a calypso green r.s.
i will dig out a pic and scan it on.

i had this car about 1990. was told it was calypso green.
poor quality and size i know, had to scan from an old photo.
