Am looking for pictures of the diffenent colors mk2's came in, i got some pics already but i am lookin for:
Orange
Midnight Blue
Riviera Blue
Nordic Blue
Java Green
Daytona Yellow
Signal Yellow
Signal Amber
Signal Orange
Carnival Red
Venetian Red
Calypso Green
Peppermint Green
Signal Green
and any other rare colors.
could a color name be posted wit any pics.

Don't laugh, 'cos my new website is only in a very early stage and still on the trial server, but I've started to compile information on colours. It's certainly not definitive yet, but based on all sorts of official info I have. It's under CarWorld, RS Facts.

Any constructive comments are welcome on the site, by the way - I'm only just learning this stuff!

All my own work! 'fraid I had to draw the line at RS2000. Information taken from factual references like microfiche, colour cards, paint chips from paint manufacturers etc.

I've got colour chips of ALL colours. I've got some info on the colour cards about mex's. Currently bidding on yet another colour card to cover a year gap I'm missing.

If someone scans the cover of a mex owners handbook so I can get the same little icon as the RS2000, then I can do something for Mex.

Won't be top priority though, as I want to first do some more RS2000 goodies for the website! :bigsmurf:

As far as I know there's only one, mine was painted 5yrs ago
and has never spent a night out since then!!!!!

Heres another and it is totally original and has not been on the road for nearly 20 years BUT, it has the paint code and name in the boot as you can see from the sticker its called New Green ? never ever heard of it before?

Ford haven't heard of it either! It's not a listed colour on the last issue of the microfiche which covered all build years!

There was a Nova Green (=New Green in spanish) but this was a metallic colour!

What an interesting discovery - maybe a special order paint job? Any chance of the VIN Plate and, more importantly, the build plate as photos?

Ders is correct, Ford did not call it Salmon pink, the proper name is Signal red 1980.

The blue one in my signature picture is Nordic blue.

My old signal amber Mexico had a colour sticker in the boot saying "signal orange'78" and the aerosol touch up paint I bought from Ford had signal orange on it too.

What about Roman bronze then :clown:

my old buddy had a salmon pink one..might still have it....i know he bought it as called salmon pink....why!!

have to excuse me it was a long time ago that i owned my mk11's and the memory isnt as good as it used to be.

Signal amber usually says yellow on the log book,

if you were asked to describe the colour signal red to someone, "salmon pink " would be a good description, which is why its stuck!.

This looks like signal orange to me, but then digital reproduction of some colours can be deceiving, especially if it's a scan of a printed photo which may not have been processed correctly.

Whos alan cox? The blue 1 belongs 2 my friend stuart and is rivera blue and the brown 1 belongs 2 my dad and is tuscan beige
My car is signal orange but i decided 2 respray my engine bay during an engine swap, even tho the colour is signal orange its come out a lot lighter but i decided 2 keep it and respray the rest of the car 2 match but i'm well worried its gonna end up lookin amber now
