right, i know it will never be the arched menace id always love. but im having a few inspiration problems as to where to take her. ive thought about taking the chrome off, but decided against it, cos it dont look all that bad , ive also thought about giving her the "suttle rally" look, i.e tidy black flaps, minilites, etc. but seems a shame to keep the original ghia look (i.e, top of the range) i thought about keeping her completely standard, but it doesnt have that evil menace look i want :cherry: :cherry:

anyone got some good 4 door pics then?

oh, a pic of mine btw, not a very good phjoto, as took with the phone :cyclops:

its an alloy group 4 one, but without the bits that connect to the forest arches, i brought it off ebay for about £30.

i was thinking about getting a set of quarter bumpers chromed? i know they are rare enough without me losing another set, but at least they wont end up twisted and mangled on a rally car!

There's no accounting for taste, but....... IMHO:

Keep the Ghia look and the chrome. As far as the visible mods are concerned, go for Ghia original type. I'd definitely consider a black vinyl roof. Certainly some spot lights wouldn't go a miss - again, keep the chrome look. How about a second chrome mirror?

By all means, do non-visible 'rallye' mods on the engine or suspension. Make it a wolf in sheep's clothing!

Spend some money on the interior and sound system.

Don't look at this site too often!! It's an RS Escort site and you'll only get frustrated. It would be a shame to turn such a nice original Ghia into a boy-racer.

ye ive got big plans for the engine and inside bits, ive been collecting bits ever since i was about 12 :flower:. yes to the winyl roof, and yes to the pass wing mirror, and i think ill get me some chrome minilites (no accounting for taste like you said, and use the rostyles in the winter (stop the chrome cracking, and have some more winter suitable tyres on them) and some chrome quarters, not a fan of the idea of the spotlights, although i might put some 6"ers on (but not with the covers on). i like the chrome but im not a big fan of the side trim, as it looks a bit messy, so that may come off

Aaaaggghhh! Not sure, but I think the side chrome trim wasn't stuck on in those days, but had clips and holes in the doors. Be careful!

As for spot lights, I reckon two round chrome bumper mounted ones would do it a treat but taste is a very individual thing!

PS: A 'period' shiny wheel could be a Wolfrace in chrome.

side strips are through holes about 10 each side wi=hich you would need to fille someway and then repaint

banishit, theres about 16 each side, and they are held on by threew different types of clip, someof which are metal, and i spent lots and lots of time finding these clips, and not all of it is on, as ive had to make my own (by wleding a washer onto a bolt, ten grinding the head off the bolt), as when it came back from the bodyshop they needed putting on, not ive got one of the sides on, i dont think they look all that good, plus the trim is a bit knackered, and has a few kinks in it etc

acutally, if you notice in that pic above (and in my sig) tehres a piece missing on the front wing, but you cant notice it all to much cos the photo is pap, not to worry, its on now
