Yes its that time again, to disappear down into deepest Wales to view another car, tomorrow all being equal, yes its white, yes its pre- custom and yes it sounds good. not too sure what else to say, some good feedback would be appreciated to consider if i,m driving back, pulling my hair out, or better still, with my pocket a little lighter and a great bid smile on my face !! watch this space.

Is this the one on ebay Ian? If so, looks very nice indeed. Good luck mate.

Just curious - why did have to be a pre-custom, white etc..? Reliving your youth  ????

The car is now at £7700 but the buy now is £7000 whats the craic with that and Ebay

if it goes over the buy now ? should it not go to the first person that gets the £7k

and why would anyone pay 7.7 when it was for sale at 7k I'm confused now :geek:

I think as soon as someone places a bid (i.e. not the buy-it-now amount) eveybody loses the buy-it-now option. Then if the price goes above the original buy-it-now price its tough luck really - thats why its there, to give people the chance to buy it before it *possibly* goes beyond that price - all a gamble really!

I hope Ian gets what he's looking for - she certainly looks lovely.

Hi Ian,
the car (if its the one on Ebay) looks nice, i must admit it went thro my mind to have a glance myself (just sold my Fiesta Flame) but i decided to stash the cash instead.
I wish i could of been some help to you, living about 30mins away from Cardiff but i am new to this scene and not very knowledgeable yet. Keep an eye on the bridges over the M4, the cameras love camping out on them and i hope it goes well for you.

Cheers chaps, thanks for all the feedback, i want a white pre-custom because thats exactly what i owned 20 years ago. just one of those things, i think the car suits white (personal opinion) and i prefere the roller-seats, always found them a little more comfortable and a little stronger because their not as tall, as of Tuesday pm, the guy doesn,t want to do a deal with me, i wanted to view the car on Saturday, he said he had some one who was viewing it and would i call him on Monday, sure enough i got a email Monday am, saying the guy didn,t even show, not a phone call, so i said i would come down Tuesday, however i wouldn,t have a penny over 7k in my pocket, he didn,t like this because e bid was now 7700, out of principle i said well based on the weekends events i wouldn,t be too sure about the bid, if you want a man on your doorstep, and the car is as you nice as you claim it is, i,ll give you the buy now price of 7k, he didn,t like that and said why should i do that, i said because i,m a man of my word, and if i say i,ll be there, i will, this still didn,t convince him, i said call by Tuesday evening or dont bother in the future, I thought it best to stick to my guns, Bloody ebay gets on my nerves, i hope the guy who wind doesn,t show, serves him right,

Ian, bad luck with the car on eBay. I think it was a bit below the belt for the seller to remove the buy it now option but it just goes to prove what I said to you some months ago at Donnington - it really is a sellers market for these cars now, especially the ones in VGC.

I think if you want to be in with a chance on a really mint car, you can't afford to be too rigid with what you are prepared to pay. It may not suit good buying principles but it's what you're stuck with if you want a nice car !!!!

I had considered that, but just because someone acts like that doesn,t mean everyone should.

One is bound to pop up somewhere. The pre-custom model is now very scarce.

i know the buy it now has gone, but i don't think its the sellers fault, i thought once there were bids over a certain amount it automatically dissappeared.
I am sorry to here about the situation mate - i am sure you'll find one
