to post pictures 'n stuff, but i found some snaps of my mk1 mex and wanted to share them:-
reg.number was HDG 441L it may still be around, i sold it to a bloke called ed hall, who lived in southampton.
engine was a patterson 1700 x-flow with sprightly performance
i killed three gearboxes with it
the starter ring fell off the flywheel one day after i had started it up, so i couldnt stop it.......
started motor used to fall out on a regular basis, cables were just long enough for it to hit the floor!
single box exhaust, so you could forget a conversation over 40
low as f**k, i could only take one person in the back, and they had to sit in the middle, although i put it back to standard height, then fitted some mudflaps
ignition key snapped off in ignition, so i started it with pliers for a while...
it also had a slow puncture that i would re inflate every other day, i did that for six months!!
lots of other stuff happened which i cant remember, but i was bloody fab!

i was 21 when i got that (nearly 32 soon....), i was dead chuffed with it, people used to stop me whilst i was driving it to tell me all about the one they used to have, one bloke stopped me to try to buy it off me there and then!!!! all my mates thought i was mad to have it, especially with the trouble i had with it.

dave, i got it early '94, and had it for 2 1/2 years.if my memory serves me. do you know anybody who goes by the name of ed hall, who is into his escorts??

i have just remembered..... when i sold it, i was in a rush to get rid, as i had my minty mk1 xr2 by then, and the mex was sitting on my mums drive, so when this ed geezer came to view, he said " how much?" and i said " i'm not taking less than a grand......" the git couldn't get his cash out quick enough......afterwards i thought............der.............. you live and learn
