I buy replacement carts for mine from the ads in Computer Active weekly mag
I get 10 Black and 10 Colour for £21 delivered and I have had 2 failures in about 4 years on my Epson 640
In my 895 Photoprinter I use some from a shop up the road, these are the chipped ones and they cost £1.99 for Black £2.99 for the 5 chambered colours only had 1 failure on a colour from drying out
I use http://www.phoenixdirectukshop.co.uk/ got them out the back of a computer mag.
Seem ok, possibly not as long life as others but 8 black and 8 colour for £19 Im not complaining :)

It's a cartridge with a chip to communicate to your PC, so that it can display a little window saying it's run out of ink. That's just in case you hadn't noticed that your pages were coming out blank.

the chipped ones in the latest printers will not let you print anythin if it senses the ink is gone in one or more carts

yer same here.....lol
Dave, I bought some copy cartridges for mine a little while ago (Epson Stylus Colour 760) and they were fine to begin with, but after a while the black cartridge started to leak onto the rollers below - hence when you printed something you got dirty great black intermittent lines down the page. Ended up binning the printer...could have been a one-off, but I'll stick to genuine manufacturers next time I think.
