I rang a ford dealership here in dublin to purchase a new diesel engine, the new tdci engine with everything I need and was quoted €10k which is roughly £7500....... I was thinking of putting this engine into my mk2 van as I want to use it as my everyday motor as Im doing 700/ 800 miles a week to & from work

same as my mate he wanted a new M3 Engine as his was bad, how much nearly £10,000

its bloody rediculous, but did you see the bit in the newspaper about a Suzuki 600 something or other, and the bike was nearly £7k but if you were to buy the new bits to build it, it would cost £36k how about that for a rip off

Take a look in motor bike mags and papers and there are adverts for
people who buy brand new bikes and simply strip em for parts !

the bike spares issue has been like that for as long as i can remember, its because models are revised almost yearly, and so the manufacturers have to keep spares for all models, and all paint schemes which costs a bit.....
