Asked Hadrian panels to confirm the rumour that they will be reproducing MK1 wings shortly including the RS type, got the reply mailed to me today, good news if all goes to plan. cheers, Paul
Hopefully we will have stock later in the year after August.

Sounds promising, I was told they were "just about to be repressed" by the guy in the local factors 18 months ago tho.

On a sensible note, it's great news, even if the fit of them is 'iffy'. It will knock the aRSe out of the current ridiculaRS price trend (I hope):D:D

the guy bought a factory out in the middle east and from there he is making the stuff......
he has already brought out the mk2 grill & mk2 indicators....his words not mine....he also plans to bring out the mk1 grill, mk1 indicators etc.....
he put up an add on EFI (EVERY FORD IRELAND) last november about the wings...no proof as of yet but he said they only got approval to go ahead with the wings.....
i know alot of people doubted me on the AVO, OLDSKOOLFORD etc when i mentioned it about the wings....but I proved to people I wasnt talking the talk as the photos proved they existed....Shame they werent right but im sure this guy will prove himself..........
Well let's pray it's true :)
Am I right in saying that nobody stocks any kind of Mk1 wing these days?? Why is it you can buy all the other panels but not wings then??

yes Dave the Die's for making the MK1 wings got damaged a while back, these were the 4 door wings the 2 door ones went a long time ago.
i think it was the near side Die/press which knacked up first, then several months later the Drivers side wings, or vice versa. thats when the price started to go up from £47 a wing to what it is today. (standard ones that is)
Express did have a few RS ones ages ago. Don't know what happened to thier Die's as they had the original Ford Rs ones?
about 2 years ago a batch of 30/40 was made available from Turkey and Greece these are still filtering through ebay occasionally.
I've been needing a new set of RS ones for ages, but just luckily i kept a few sets from cars i broke, not the best but a bit of body work had them ok.
I did hear that a couple of panel company's had been approached about commissioning a few batches too off set the making of the die's around a year ago. so hopefully it will be done. i don't think the price will be as cheap as they were but expect RS wings to be double of what Express used to charge.
cheers.................Ken

All I can hope is that they are better than the c*&p that is made in Thailand which doesn't fit, too small to cover the hole up and the screw holes don't line up. Even the bulb holders are exposed to all the muck that gets thrown up around the underwing area.......

Maybe didn't make myself clear with my last posting, I was refering to the wings that AaronP had done, not indicators etc. Were they usable at all? Or were they just 'not pretty'?
A lot of people, myself included, would be none too fussed about crap gaps etc on a competition car.
What became of the wings that were made?:)

the wings that i got done were not very good, they varied in weight, gaps were great at all, but still a very good attempt all the same.....alot has been said over the years about making the wings and it was lot of crap talk...i took a gamble & did something about it...shame it didnt work out so far but ill never say thats the end of me making attampts at getting stuff done :D
Big project to take on. good of you to attempt it.
