What is the weight in KG's opf a standard mk2 RS2000?

Thanks for that but Ii am a bit confused as in this recent thread it says a mk2 is 1200kgs??? which one is correct??

Empty weight: 925kg
Maximum legal weight loaded: 1325kg

Empty weight = weight of vehicle ready for use without driver. (I think it has 90% fuel tank full)

Interestingly you will find that the legal payload (400kg) is extremely high by today's standards. Some cars today only have a legal capacity for about two people and a toothbrush even if they have 5 seats and a boot! It's because the homologation is based on a vehicle without extras like aircon, radio, sunroof etc. and these all eat up the legal payload allowance.

Overturn a loaded car on your holiday and the insurance will sure let you know if you were above the legal limit in Germany!!

I know mine is a bit heavier cos of the cage, but not much.

just had a look in my ford book (see pic) and it says for the rs2000

923 kg
2035(lb)

according to the october 1979 ford cars all model catalogue, the ford rallye sport 2000 has a curb wieght of 2035lbs :cheers:
