I was looking at a photo of a rs1800 today,I was wondering about the side indicators on the wings,wot are these off?cos ford will have nicked them off sumthing else!just wondering if anybody new. :cheers:

This is them Paul,They have the Mk2 Esc part number,
If they fitted them to anything else it would need to be
after 1975 as parts get the number from the first model they
are used on.

Theres nothing gay about an RS18.
Well unless it has wind deflectors fitted
to the rear quarters for the light lenses.

I think it goes like this, it was law for some european cars had side repeaters fitted, these were the early 1975 cars, press cars etc. it wasn't carried onto the later cars due to different law changes in this country. This all sounds a bit gay yeh,

but hey I own one so who cares!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve - if you can't say something constructive - say nothing at all.

In answer to the original question - the side repeaters were originally fitted to Fiat 500's - made by Carello and exactly the same part as supplied by FMC , but without the Ford wiring loom.

I've got 3 or 4 pairs of them (new and used) it's the loom that's hard to find, it piggy backs off the normal indicator wiring plug just inside the inner wing and you drill a hole through the inner for the extra grommet - there's a dimple in the inner wing already there for the hole !
