This was written by a rig worker in North Sea - he makes a lot of sense!
I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to earn that pay cheque, I work on a rig for a drilling contractor. I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.
Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a benefit cheque because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand that I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their ass drinking beer and smoking dope.
Could you imagine how much money the government would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a benefit cheque?
Please pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't. Hope you will pass it along though, because something has to change in the UK, and soon!

small problem is of course is ain't much of free country if you have to take a drink/dope etc etc test so that you can get some money off the bleedin govt.

anyway, you're only getting money back that you've already paid in

if you have worked dont grudge honest decsent people its the spongers who have never worked from day one & bloody junkies who get everything thrown at them!!!
my mate just been paid off 29 yrs with the same company did not even know how to start signing on & eventually got there and made to feel like a piece of shit asked him if he had any savings
said hes never felt so embarresed in his life
thats what this is all about
if you have nothing to hide then why is it a problem imo

sign on and get 60quid a week.how do those that av never worked manage to run cars n buy designer gear along with everything else.

TBH it's why we fought two wars against the Germans, i.e. a dictatorial state.

The govt stares up your backside in the UK these days as it is, what with all the bloody cameras everywhere and having to justify yourself if you haven't got a TV license, for which you need to give them your NI number:confused: WTF for.
The UK's on a very very slippery slope and then you get it's own citizens volunteering for drug tests. You know what one of the biggest killers is, yep that socially acceptable drug called ALCOHOL.

The "if you had nothing to hide you got nothing to fear" attitude btw is what people from the former East Germany say about their former state, and they had 14 million files on people, in a country of 17 million people, is that what you want!

Everybody on suspicion of doing summat except the people and the closest family of the people in power, and people even dobbing in their own family in to the authorities from criticising the govt. I bloody well don't

I think what most people object to those in society who get what they refer to as 'Their Wages' on a Monday. They go ballistic on Monday and Tuesday to feed their habit ie alcohol or drugs (which is paid for through N/I contributions and taxes.) The rest of the week many go and 'graft' by stealing / mugging / burgling.

So, those who can afford to drink / take drugs socially should be quite entitled to do so. It is their choice, whether illegal or not.

It is those who do not give anything back to society that winds people up.

I think it's one thing getting annoyed about others anti-social behaviour or their not putting anything back into society but advocating (volunteering to take 'em yourself in effect) blanket drug/drink testing is incredible.

If you were to loose your job would you want to take drugs tests, what's next fingerprints? Databanks of DNA of people that "tend" to be unemployed.

It's hard enough to get the pittance that you're owed back out of the b***++s, that really would be the end of the line. Tell us about your assets and assure us that you don't drink or take drugs, what sort of society is that going to be:confused:

Just a small note on this subject,for the older guys ..I have a PSA blood test every 6 months to check for prostate cancer ,its called the silent killer as you dont know if you have it till its too late SO to all you guys over 50 insist on a PSA test it could save your life !!
