Some great work going on here.....saw it this afternoon. Mate of Dale is building a rally car....:eek:

no real reason for cut out on ns chassis gusset and the exhaust cut out is because he going to run pinto motor in it for historics hope this helps

alminera, did you strip the shell before commencing the bodywork? I have seen people strip first and others strip after. Have you done anything to the metal to prevent oxidation whilst doing the repairs? Will you do anything to the metal in preparation for the paint such as re-blast etc?

Starting my build soon and need as many pointers as poss.

It's not mine I'm afraid, it's a mates of Dales. Just happened to pop in and see it. :) I don't have the answers you are after but I'm sure someone will if you post a thread up.

....absolutely stunning. Painted in radiant red it certainly looks the bizz :cool:

I think the reason there isn't a multipoint weld in cage is because it's historic spec.:)

Multi-point weld-in cages are perfectly legitimate for UK Historic events (I'm not sure about continental events)...it's the owners preference entirely as to whether they want bolt-in or weld-in units.
