Suggestions please, what should I do..........
Sufring on the RSOC BB, when I came accross a post titled
MY WEBSITE (photobucket album) (http://bbs.rsownersclub.co.uk/showthread.php?t=68606)
In it there is a person that has uploaded 3000 pic's of RS's
Very nice I though, I wonder if he has any of Paul's (My brothers) RS turbo..
So I looked in the RS turbo section...........
http://photobucket.com/albums/v377/skylineboy2002/RS%20PIX/RS%20PIX/ESCORT%20RS%20TURBO%20S2/
Now, compare that with the photos on my website - www.rscarshows.co.uk
Out of the 20 on the first page, 18 of them have been taken from my website :silent:
It's not only that section, most contain a large selection I photo's that I spent a lot of time last year traveling around to take myself. I am still trying to find a page on his website that does not contain one of my photos that I took with my camera.
What should I do ???????
Alan Cox
(Even worse than that he has put all RS2000's together - mk 1,2,5 & 6 ! ! ! )http://bbs.rsownersclub.co.uk/showthread.php?t=68606

i think unless you pay for a copyright anyone can copy them ...
you could nicely email him and request he removes your photos.

It isn't the fact that someone has coppied the photo's that annoys me,
it's that I was never asked.

Yeh Kel,
I'll do that, but he may struggle as I reckon there about 500 of mine on there
Should be interesting. :geek:

Al,
While your on, ask about royalties payments to owners for each picture of their car used !! :cat:

and if there is any payment i have loads of pictures he can use
Unfortunately dont think there is much you can do but ask him to remove them. I had noticed that there were loads of pictures of my 500 that you took at the Aberdeen show.
Must admit I have used the pictures you took of my car a few times myself, hope you dont mind, if so I will happily remove them. Except for the one I have blown up, framed and on the living room wall would rather leave that one there ;)

Wrong!
Copyright exists automatically, but registration helps you in court cases. The copyright sign doesn't have to be on the article - just try and make a Ferrari Replica car and wait to see how long it takes the boyzz from Maranello to pay you a visit and then tell them there wasn't a 'C' sign on the car!
Even if copyright has been infringed here, I'd hate to think of how anyone would put a figure on the damages incurred by someone reposting a picture of a Ford Escort!!
Be careful, if you say that that original posting was worth £1000 to you, you might get the Inland Revenue boys and girls paying a visit to your last tax declaration, because you have just turned a hobby into a profit-making business by that statement!
By the way, if your computer cache is enabled, you have just copied these words of mine into your PC memory and have infringed copyright law in the process!

I'm not worried that he has used them, just the fact there is no recognition of where they were from, or that he didn't ask if I minded.
thats what p'd me off to.

I'm in the process now of uploading them all again, but this time with a banner accross the botom, stating where there are from.
that will be a shame !!!
is sad that we have to do these thing to protect the time as effort we put in.

Tell me about it, I used to take Mondays off of work during the show season to sort out and upload the photos (I must be mad)
I even brought myself a camcorder to record the presentations of the trophys to know who won what. :geek:

Alan if you Use Photoshop just watermark them before you put them up right across the middle then if anyone wants a copy they can mail you and buy one ?
Just looked and theres an early one of mine still branded by me
