View Full Version : 1.6 GHIA
I was wondering if anyone on here has ever had a 1.6 3dr ghia. If so can anyone tell me what they are like for power. Would a standard 1.6 xflow with filter and exhaust have enough power to put the car sideways and do doughnuts? Also can anyone tell me anything about them such as years they were built and interior colours etc. Also it would be much appreicated if someone could give me a rough price guide for them aswell as tell me if they are quite easy to get or not. Thanks for any help in advance
1600 xflow and a lsd are enought 4 goin sideways
Cheers rallyslag. If its enough to go sideways then it would be enough to do doughnuts?
Does anyone know of any 1.6 3dr ghias for sale in any condition? Also still looking for information on years and interior colours etc

2 door 1.6 Ghias are fairly unusual, most 1.6 Ghia's were 4 doors.
I had a P plate 1.6 auto Ghia auto 2 door few years back, and I've only seen a couple of others about.
The 1.6x-flow is more than enough for donuts - it's a torquey little number.
I've got a 4 door 1600L at the moment and the performance is quite lively. With a slipper fitted (which it has had in the recent past) it doughnuts a treat.
In fact there's a video clip of it on Turbosport doing some figue eights and doughnuts : http://forums.turbosport.co.uk/bbs/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=157610&an=0&page=14#157610
Cheers Mr Hoarder. I was looking for the 1.6 ghia because thats what i got an insurance quote for. I didn't think they were as hard to get. Its much easier to find a 1600 sport. Does anyone know if they would be roughly the same insurance group as they are practically the same with the same engine?

stupid but true
Thanks Banishit. Is the Harrier a higher or lower group than a ghia? Also does anyone know if harriers are easy to find in England, Scotland or Wales? I've seen a few over here but not many.
