alright boys and gurls, i know this is THE escort site, but i've finally started to do my bike after 3 years of neglect ( always working on the car ), and i thought as most of you are 80's throw backs you may be interested to see how i get on with it. if anyone does dissagree with this appearing on the bb i am well happy to have it removed.

synopsis :- bought nearly 6 years ago looking like this , 14,000 miles on it, but had stood a long time and was worse for wear as a result :o

once in my garage i stripped it, cleaned like mad, new tyres, exhausts refurbed and tank repainted/laquered etc etc

after a fair bit of time/money it was ready to use

but time and lack of use took its toll, and the tank rusted out :(

and finally this weekend i started to strip it and go over the whole bike this time

the plan is to get it stripped right down, have everything re-powder coated and hopefully have it done before the car season begins mid march. i just hope i get it done in time

Nice Ed, had a RD125LC on a C plate, then upgraded to a RD350 YPVS, loved that bike until someone stole it  spent three nights polishing the Carbs to chrome with the old Autosol, it knocked the stuffing out of me when it got nicked. The RD's were nicked right left and centre at the time couldn't leave them anywhere, used to sound class with the small can microns on

no grah, mostly clean and repaint really, i will need a few bits replacing like side stand, and all cables etc, but my biggest issue is the tank. i will probably be cheaper/quicker to build it modded ans standard stuff is much like escorts stuff, overpriced and under available :)

i love the sound of standard LC's, but i do have a pair of swarbricks in the loft ;)

great bike they are, had a few of them in my day. i remember when i bought my 1st 250 lc, i couldn't believe how good a handling bike they where and so smooth compared to my x7 which I'd just sold at that time, buts that's another story and a great classic too. was trying to buy a 350 recently. they sound nice with all speeds, but you're right, i think it's hard to beat the original pipes. best colour scheme you're lc is in my view

started my motoring journey on a rd125 lc and it was the mutts. for a 17 year old to have a "wee" 125 that could pull over the ton was pretty cool... love these legendary bikes.
would love a 250 or 350 but as above post they pretty dear now :(

stunning bike mate....... :yeah:
