here's one for the vin plate gurus. I have come across a MK II starting with:

"CPAT..."

Now I know that C is Ford Britain Affiliated company

"P" may be a mistake for "F" = Avely - but did they build any Mk II's at Avely? - the car is 1975.

Or has anyone come across "P" before?

I know that "CK..." was designated to the Mk 1 Twinks sent to Aussie so the "C" prefix is not so unusual.

Dave, Cheers, that sounds right - and by chance I've come across another Escort (Mk 1 this time) starting with the same CPAT vin plate. There are therefore both Ford Spain built cars, pity because one of them was claimed to be an ex-Sutton car.
