Hi I hope you can help me...

I am in the process of selling my 7-type kit car and
my old banger used for the every day run to work and back.

After kit cars my second love is the MK2 Escort,
although I never owned one.

I need a car that will start every day and take me to work,
but still have performance to match the modern GTI, it must
also return a minimum of 25mpg and of course stand out from the crowd!

I have seen pictures of MK2's with zetecs fitted, they must fit the above?
Where are these cars, are they for sale, how much for a minter and can
you really use one every day?

Do you know of a better idea, more practical engine?

I have so many questions, I won't bore you with now.
Please help if you can.

P.S. My kit car has a 900cc bike engine and will do 0-60 in 4secs,
can a MK2 do that...mind you it has no roof, doors, winscreen, reverse
gear...

well my turbo 2 is up for grabs and it will stay with a standard cos so i think it will mince the golfs mate. it aint a concours but is very strong shell and looks the part can post pics on e'mail if you want to. :-(
