trawling through the depths of 'The Case' i came across a very large and comprehensive A4 Binder / document on AVO and Rallye sport parts, such is its size and content that it is impossible to scan / photocopy and place on here, however it does have original cutaway drawings , part numbers etc of all parts of mk 1 AVO Escorts, therefore any particular requests (body, transmission, wiring, engine, brakes, suspension etc)

Graham, I will quite happily scan the contents of 'The Case' & put it onto CD / DVD in either JPEG or PDF format or both.
People like myself are interested in this kind of information, as it provides an invaluable reference source.
Where others see previously unseen material as a way of making a few quid.
How you would control distribution or stop it's resale is I do not know.
It may be worth putting related Items on idividual discs. To stop the whole content being put together for the ebay profiteers.

I agree it would be nice if the effort people put to these things were not rewarded by seeing their work on eBay.
I should know as the Twin Cam workshop manual I did and uploaded to the Turbosport server is now on eBay regularly - with the page I added asking for it not to be sold on removed  .
I also did the indexed PDF version of the RS parts manual for Dave Verney after he went to the expense of having it scanned in the first place as the original was a 600 page microsoft format document and very difficult to use.
I think it is possible to make PDF's un copyable (sp?) though I suspect not by anyone who knows what they are doing. The MK2 RS parts fiche PDF that Bainishit (I think) had made is un copyable from the disc he sent me.
I also have a very nice PDF of a MK1 RS parts book the one with the World Cup Mexico on the front, but I have not circualted this and surprise surprise I haven't seen it on eBay.
This one, the big spread of the two Esccorts looks very nice.http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h248/willid1/Untitled-3.jpg

how many times have I said GJ about getting the whole case scanned, before its gets ilegible or worse ruined by an act of God, its the only one in the world and deserves to be preserved, get it on disk, and give a copy to a couple trusted people so the thing never gets lost ?
agree with brian, there is a few of us out there who can be trusted and are not out to make a buck, as mark says a few of us love his sort of info and we spend years collecting this sort of stuff to squirral away with the other "rubbish"as the misses says
or copy and sell it yourself before somone else does :spliff:
GJ adopt me as your son and ill look after the case :D

OK getting back on topic.... Graham do you have any dates for when the Mk1 rear bumber was changed from a straight plain bumper to having the cut out put in.
Does the fact you keep giving us a taster now & again mean you are already scanning everything in the case... :( :evil3: :read: :read2:

pmsl
Because they didnt need to
Serious note, though. The info on the AVO cars is irreplaceable and I think Banishit, Vinny, MexicoMark etc are right when they say that steps need to be taken to protect it from harm, acts of God, profit making rip off merchants etc.
My suggestion would be to make a couple of different copies in different media (JPEG, PSF, DVD, photocopy etc) and store them in different locations. That way they would be safe from physical harm and the advent of technological progress) As regards keeping the info safe from un-authorised sale, what about copyright, would ford still hold it?
Why not just get proper printed books made and sell them to everyone who wants one . I'm sure the train spotters will all buy one . :agree:

good to see that there is some demand to see such things in print, however it will never happen as there is simply too much detail / Info etc and TBH i dont really want to spend time /finance on compiling a book that probably would only sell a few Dozen (lets be honest, the appeal is limited to a few dozen or so enthusiasts)
will continue to put the odd thread on here on the AVO stuff, possibly Dave Custom introduces an Archive thread that is only available to regular posters to view and so on,

I think you would sell thousands of them (provided it wasn't too expensive) as everyone with an interest in old escorts would buy one just for the pictures alone :rr: . Do it :D
