Is it true that all the good cars left in the uk that are for sale are hitting the island of Ireland? I have read so many lads on different websites making these comments. If it is true, where the hell are they???????

Thought this had been happening for years , when I put OEC up for sale in the early 90's it could've gone to Ireland ten times over with the amount of calls from there. My mates MK2 (HHH737V) went over there at a similar time.

Us Essex boys don't like to see them leave !! :bawling:
The only MK2 RS I've ever sold stayed relatively local.
I know of at least a dozen MK2 RS's in South Essex -not all on the road, one or two are basket cases in garages - they know where I am when they want to sell them :D.
Sadly a Mate of mine exported his signal yellow pre Custom to New Zealand !!
I tried to buy it but the lure of sunnier climes was too much ( and the bloke in NZ had all the money !!! )
No comment :agimp:
They are still a very rare road car over here. Rallying is a bit different however.
This concours mex went to america :bawling:

Ian,
I would be your eyes in Ireland but cars here are silly money, even worse than the uk..... the green mex that JLMsport had a while, the one thats on the RSOC web page, is here in waterford, the guy wont accept anything less than €8000 for it which is roughly £5500stg.... its a bucket of shit so ive been told....There is a very small amount of very clean rs cars in ireland, well the republic anyway

I've admired that Mex for a long time, it was partly the inspiration for me finally going out and buying a Signal Yellow example. When did it go to the States?? Wasn't it at a show earlier in the Summer?? I know there are a lot of classic British Ford enthusiasts across the pond (ex-pats I guess??), one guy in California even has a fleet of 'em...
